June 29th By Laws Meeting
By law meetings
In attendance Nick, Riley Paul, Pete, Dave, John, Brandon, Jude, Skyler, Scott
Talking about what we want to do to amend the bylaws.
Code of Conduct – Where is it
Shop rules – where is it?
A better new member experience – documents that are involved and TCM branded things?
What do we want to clarify
Tool management: to clarify and allow for greater access to more expensive tools, perhaps put this in the member agreement, code of conduct, or shop rules?
Who owns what? Cooperate memory to help things getting fixed.
And how do we find who owns what?
Do a search on a wiki?
Does this relate to the bylaws?
Rules of incorporation → Bylaws → Board and associated rules to govern the group
Section 5 of the bylaws for Minnesota – outline for tools and property voting and rights of Minnesota.
What happens if something happens to a piece of equipment on loan? Insurance?
Bylaw – board positions and what they involve? This is covered in the current bylaws.
Volunteer organizations and how they work, and all were surprised that TCM is working so well
Nick heads out.
Questions for Brandon Code of conduct: needs to be made, or need to be collected to a formal document.
Shop rules: might be made and but probably need to updated.
Membership committee: Brandon is trying to work on this.
Set up a wiki for the shop rules and for the Code of Conduct
Starting from scratch do these as 10 rules?
Loaning equipment policy
Skyler shows up to take notes briefly… Thanks Skyler!
How specific do you want a tool agreement document need to be. Make up the document for each tool and make the rules available on the Internet.
Jude enters the room
Who is responsible for the maintenance of your equipment? Owner or the group.
The group was leaning towards the owner, but TCM need to be able to say no to equipment, if it doesn't fit in with the facility.
Skyler is recognized.
Future meetings: Board members and direct election of officers by membership
unrelated: Wiki access is a user group they need to be added to -
83 members to date!!!!
meeting concludes.
TO DO:
Shop rules on wiki
Donation policy update/create what is a agreement (signed agreement for tools over some certain amount)
Code of conduct on wiki
Membership packet (what to include)
Skyler will update how to access the wiki for members of the forum and most likely post it on the forums the wiki
