IM483 Stepper Motor Drivers

The IM483 is a microstepping driver that incorporates surface mount and ASIC technology. The IM483 is small, easy to interface and use. The full manual is available here.

  • 3A RMS (4A Peak) output current
  • 14 microstep resolutions
  • Optically isolated logic inputs: step, direction, enable and reset
  • Short circuit and over temperature protection
  • Resistor selectable run and hold current

Note: A 1.5k ohm, 1% 1/8w, current limiting resistor is needed between pins 2 and 3 of connector P2 for the X & Y motor controllers. I don't know the specs of the Z motor but I suspect its less than 1.6A/phase which would require 590 to 787 ohms
