I'm willing to do whatever I can to help with this process.
There are a few caveats, for me anyway, speaking as a member, not a board member.
I want everyone to be heard, and will help with that any way I can.
My personal opinion on the bylaws is, I like them the way they're written.
That having been said, I know others want some changes, or the option for them.
I'll help in that process, but it's up to those folks who want the changes to describe them.
As I said before, if someone else (someone who isn't me) is willing to put together a package of proposed changes or ammendments, I will do all I can to help as a member and board member to get that info out to our member base, and aid in discussion.
I don't feel comfortable helping put together suggested changes that I'm not in favor of.
So, you guys get that copy together, and we'll go from there.
One more thing about my opinion as a member on proxies: I don't want anything that's exclusive, rather inclusive. I know someone said something about "banking proxies". I don't think that's going to happen. The chance of that, however, pales in the face of someone's voice not being heard. For me, anyway.
One more thing. If you look at the bylaws of 10 different non-profits in minnesota, all conforming to the same statute, you'll notice that they all vary from one another as much as ours do.
I say 10, but I should say, the ones I know first hand, i.e. centro legal, officina legal, neighborhood justice center, boys and girls club of saint paul, ywca of cathedral hill, ymca on university. That's 6. (I think those are all non profits..)
