A 3d map at this time makes very little sense in my opinion. First all the big stuff is apparent and will be located in wood, metal or CNC land etc.
Next with a major member drive going on just what tools we have will most likely be in even more of a state of flux then normal and so the location of the small tools as they move around to make space.

Just a heads up, a 3d model of the space is in the works for some other stuff.
If we do decide we want a 3d map, or even 3d asset tracker, that's doable. er, Later, lol.

Call me crazy, but labeled shelf locations, peg boards or bins for tools, and a push to get folks to put their toys away seems more appropriate to our groups organizational maturity level at this point.

wait, we have an organizational maturity level ??
news to me.
it's zero, right?
(If we average, I reckon I bring it waaay down.)
I"m with you, Pete, but 3d asset tracker would be FUN!

I share that maturity level, I'm pleased to tell you that after years of work I can now find my ass with both hands more than 80% of the time. There's hope for all of us. Pete
