I know this has come up at least twice on the forums before, and it seems like we lacked someone who was sufficiently invested to lead the charge. If that is the case, and there are members interested, this might be a nice win / win, we offer support / build space / expertease etc, this guy, or group of people leads the project. Anyone happen to know this Jamey Erickson?

It's on kickstarter and about 2/3rds funded to make 5 asscents this summer. I know we have our own money crunch, I'm proposing non-cash material, effort, etc type support.

We should have this guy come to open hack night and tell us about his project. I backed his Kickstarter project -- hope he gets his full funding.

I was working with a couple of other guys at the Dallas Makerspace on a high altitude balloon and can give some details on the project as well as some of the hiccups we had. We/they haven't launched it yet because of the time thief that was moving to a new location (both me and DMS), but I'm sure we could do a collaborative thing with them. Andrew posted the source code on github along with the mods needed to get the GPS working correctly. Im in the process of moving my aprs information and source to the tcm wiki. We had purchased mainly cots equipment that cost about 3 bills but would have been complete with a 2 meter and some testing... btw, I brought all the aprs equipment with me. Is there still any interest floating around tcm?
