opposite the big SMM Make day is the Seward neighborhood garage sale. while a bunch of us are committed to being there most of the day, it'd be awesome if anyone in the shop can throw the doors wide and give tours (and ideally take member applications) i'm not sure who will be point for coordinating that, or if it'll just be we'll leave some info out for anyone in the shop. if you'd like to coordinate this holler.

we'll have a table at the northstar roller derby championships this weekend. saturday, doors at 6 bout at 7. we get 2 passes, preference given to those who've done the event before, but members there in TCM shirts would rock, and gives the volunteers a chance to get up and see the bout if you give em a break.

Seward Garage Sale day question.


Our current exterior signs are basic and still do not really give anybody who is not familiar with Hackerspaces or the Maker movement a hint at what we do, or offer.

Now having said that, if we were to add a OPEN House Sign outside so the neighbors could see it, and maybe get it up today to Thursday so they know in advance, we may just draw a few people in, and they may talk while wandering about the sales.

I am not even semi competent at artistic stills, but if that plotter is working we could use it to outline a banner, and paint the spaces in.

Just a thought.

Ok, I made it down there tonight and made a quick "Open House Today" sign out of some plexi from our plenty of windows stock.

I will see if I can find time Thursday to make it down and make a stand and maybe hook up a LED flashlight to backlight it for Wednesday night use.

If I do not end up fishing Saturday, I will spend some time at the HF too to help with any conversations, tours that may happen.
(Providing my fob is not turned off, I did not interrupt the board meeting to pay May's dues)
