Heya,
I went to the Living Green Expo last weekend, and I saw a very nice VAWT on display by mnwind.us
they also had a neat little bank of capacitors product that showed off the "slowing down" of a power meter due to local inductive load balancing of these capacitors. The product is called kVar energy controller:
http://www.kvar.com/1001/products/In any case, it made me think that TCMaker's large electrical loads are probably motors spinning for saws, lathes, grinder, spinning things, etc. Maybe a similar bank of capacitors would be easy to add to the hack factory to both reduce the electric bill and increase local power efficiency...
Just a thought!
