Well I know there are a few artists around here now so I am very much in favor on an art show!

I've been starting to help clean the place up to make the place a little more presentable. Right now I'm working on the kitchenette upstairs. So far I have consolidated all of the cups, plates, cutlery, etc here in order to take a full inventory. https://picasaweb.google.com/106925943521454728665/TCMaker#

JTBarclay, anyone, we really need to establish the time frame for this event so we can start pushing some communications!
Last year we had Mini Maker Faire from 2 to 6 PM and "art show and refreshments" from 7 to 11 PM on our flyer. The refreshments were actually sold for the entire event and the "art fair" turned out to be really a continuation of the Mini Maker Faire with additional demos and a music performance.
Should we really have a 6-7 PM "break," or just have a 7-11 PM period of "demonstrations, music, and party?"

It doesn't really make sense to have a separate time for the art gallery...maybe extend the hours of the show with an "After Party" to follow for the volunteers! That can wrap into clean up...since I wasn't there I don't know how you run things so just smile and nod if I'm off base.
I have a laminater that I will be bringing in so we can make better signage. I have laminate to make badges, 5x7 and 8x11

The reason for the break was it was supposed to be 2 different setups.
Most demo folks packed out, and music was set up. Intent was art to be hung on walls so folks couls approach it instead of being 10' away.
Most guests left, got real dinner and interested folk returned. I think well get many fewer exhibitors if they have to stay for 10 hrs, and havig the public nominally clear out makes loadout possible. If we hhad bigger space, ongoing would be fine.

That makes sense. Jude and I were just discussing art and thought hanging the art in the family room and then some on display downstairs as well...depending on how much room is need for display. So in the family room pulled the white boards down and make room for open wall space.
