The shopSmith Mark V that Scott has loaned on long term is in need of a single part to make the Bandsaw and Jointer both workable.

It is a piece of plastic that connects the two hubs together from the Motor.

I cannot afford to buy it outright and still pay my dues, but I could dig up part of it if others wanted to chip in. Or else I could buy it as part of my dues, but until I start working again I get either Dues or toys to spend my monthly allotment of funds on.

Any body want this up and working?

did you finally get all of the related major bits from the old owner?

All that he posted was that the coupler for the Bandsaw and Jointer parts he already had in place was ordered.

I have been watching Ebay and CL for parts like the tool rest and bracket for the Lathe portion, but prices have been a bit much.

This will give us a Bandsaw with up to a 7 inch throat, and a jointer.

If the original owner still had the other parts, that would be great, but I think we should plan to have to do without them at this stage of the game.

Thanks again for bringing this down to the shop, and the coupler, both will add a lot of value to our woodworking folk.
