One auction underway one starting soon, they even have two smallish CNC Mills that only need 220 single phase. Lots of great stuff from PCs to meat, slicers, metal cold saws to staphacide, should there be a need. Check it out, some nice carts, cranes, cabinets, and even a rolling staircase as well. Besides the CNC Mill. There's welding supplies, curtains etc that look like they might be interesting, several nice big air compressors, a nice 3/4 hp floor standing drill press, a 46 x 6 inch belt sander, and tons of vises, oh an nice set of stock holding frames too. How about an adopt an orphan tool program???? http://www.hoffhilk.com/You need to register to bid, I have one, or you can register, it's pretty painless. Pete

Cool I hadn't seen the item list, however, that's only one of the currently posted auctions. There's more.

So maker people, this auction is winding down, there's some lovely (small) pallet racking, storage cabinets, big rolling tool box, and various rolling carts all for under $5 at the moment. Anybody want to sponser a cabinet, tool chest what have you? I plan to big on a few things, smaller if they need to fit in my van, sky's the limit if someone with a truck is available next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to bring things home to the HF. If you are interested, lets talk and check prices tomorrow night. I'll be over about 8:00 I hope. Pete http://www.hoffhilk.net/cgi-bin/mnlist. ... NETS-CARTSI'm resisting the temptation to buy a 3 Phase mill....... so far.......

Based on discussions at tonigh's meeting I placed some bids, I'm currently "winning" on a small set of pallet racking, two storage cabinets, and of all things a crucible. I'm looking at sometime Tuesday for pickup if I continue to win, anybody who would like to contribute, that would be most appreciated, the total is $72 right now, about half of which is the Crucible, (wasn't planning on it but it just seemed so perfect)

Very cool, let me know what time works for you.
I will pull my tool box out of the truck and be ready to go when you are.

Do we keep track of stuff like this, i.e. when someone buys stuff we're all gonna use, and says "contributions welcome"?
If we did, and then, down the road, we got to a point where we collectively said "wow, we got $40 from that class, where should we put it?", I think you see where I'm going with this.
Just a thought.

I believe that if you teach a class that brings in donations / contributions / fees they can be used to offset your dues. Stuff vs. dues, is I believe, a more nebulous thing.
