I live within a few hours of MSP and have some surplus HPC computer equipment to give away. The items include:

1. Myrinet M2L-PC164A-2 / Myrinet PCI64 Fabric adapters / We have 257 of these units

2. APC, Master Switch Network Power Controller / We have about 25 of these units

3. Lantronix ETS16PR / Serial Terminal Switches / We have 14 of these

4. Myricom M2LM-CLOS64 / Myrinet 64 port cluster fabric switches / We have 4 of these units.

Everything was working when it was pulled from the cluster computer a few years back. If you are interested in all or part of it let me know and we can make arrangements.

Holy crap yes, I'll take at least one of the APC Masterswitch units off your hands, and a Lantronix box as well, why not.

Well i will throw this out.

If anybody would like to make a road trip to Eau Claire (WI) I am about 5 minutes off the 94/93 exit, and can arrange to give out this hardware like St Nick.

Or alternatively, if somebody who makes it to the TC Make meetings would like to aggregate a list, i know somebody who goes regularly who could bring a box of hardware back on halloween weekend (maybe).

In any case, it does not look like i will be able to make an arbitrary trip to MSP in the next several weeks, and paying for shipping 90 miles kind of defeats the purpose of 'free' - so these are the short term options.

I will say this - I think if somebody was inclined, the APC power switches could be hacked with Zigbee adapters to the serial ports, and these could be used for some (potentially) impressive switched xmas light displays. As is - they can be switched via the RS232 or the ethernet interfaces to do the same thing. Each APC switchbox has 8 controller outlets.
