Starting this month, the TCAUG will be changing the day and time of our monthly meeting to see if we can draw more people in.

The Meeting for June will be Tuesday the 8th, at 6:30pm in the HackFactory Classroom

I will try to be there a 1/2 hour early to have the doors open, and make sure the tables are somewhat clear.

Topic for this month will be setting up a basic PBX server using PBX in a flash.

We then may configure a couple of the phones that are in the VOIP boxes in our storage area.

We also will discuss whatever topics that are brought to the group, and if there are any current events in the VOIP arena.

Great! I've been wanting to attend, but the Saturday meetings were always falling on otherwise-booked days.

Tonight's meeting was more or less focused on installing PBX in a Flash on a donated 1u server, and then getting some of the VOIP phones set up. Which was accomplished as well as plans to install a 5 phones in the HF for internal use now, and if we get a itch to we can fund a DID (Direct inbound Dial) number of our own and set up asterisk to be able to call out, or set up a method to have somebody outside the HF pick up a handset, and that call can be placed to any SIP hard or Softphone. But for now, we will set this up to have a intercom system between the classroom, basement, office, entrance interior and work to have the fifth be an exterior phone / Intercom / callbox outside the gate. (this would dial a predetermined number when picked up only)

The computer hardware is set up, now it is cable pulls, mainly from downstairs to the office. Also we need to decide if we are going to set up the server rack downstairs in the room with the phone, or elsewhere.

We did get the Linksys, Snom, and Galacticom phones set up and made calls, but they will need to be set up again when we finish wiring.

FYI, there is traditionally no July or December TCAUG meeting, but in July we pick a day and have a BYOBBQ cookout right after the fourth of July (saturday is the target) watch for details on the TCAUG mailing list.
