Members are allowed to add character to the space, do we need to correct everything? I think a saw blade sticking in the wall is pretty freakin' poignant, the controversy is part of it. It's a hacker-space, not kindergarten. I just don't want to come back & find some local grumpus NIMBY type has spun TC Maker / Hack Factory as a bunch of dangerous yahoos in the local media, or something, & gotten y'all shut down. There are ALWAYS griefers, and they WILL need to be dealt with. Please be conscious of your public image.

theo, my point was that we're not professionals so things happen, but that we don't necessarily want to celebrate misuse of a tool so badly that if could seriously injure someone. while we do hack things together, most of the time, most of us seem to strive for quality amateur work in the true sense of the word, not in the modern "not a professional" sense.
poignant would be embedding it in the operation game and rigging it to ooze fake blood in a recirculating fountain. making it into a trophy is ... i'm not sure.
ironic that we're discussing potential embarrassment on a public board.

Actually this type of openness is, IMO, very important..
While I am not a fan of the blade in the wall, I do like that it is bringing a rational discussion about it.

I left a pack of 50 3M laser-printable transparencies under the stack of paper next to the printer in the office. I got them today out of a box marked FREE at school so please feel free to use them.
