I'm somewhat new to making and have yet to attend one of the Twin City Maker events because of work / family obligations, but have managed to eek out a long weekend in May (May 21 through 24) to attend the Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA. I am hoping there will be other from the Twin Cities that are planning on attending and that would like to become our own "Twin Cities Maker Contingent" I am flying out on Friday the 21st, flying back the morning of the 24th and staying at USA Hostel in Downtown, San Francisco. I'll be commuting via BART and Cal-Tran as I find this to be a bit more adventurous than holding up in the hotel next door. Plus, there is a lot more to see and do in San Francisco. So.... if you're thinking of going, please reply back or feel free to shoot me an email off-life to geodad6@gmail.com if you're interested in meeting up there. here, traveling as a group, or whatever. My buddy and I will be showing some stuff off with the Maker Shed folks.
If we can get some screenprinting stuff going, I'd gladly wear a TCMaker shirt...
and screenprinting is cool, relatively cheap for the coolness factor, and messy. Perfect stuff to host at the Hack Factory for folks in tiny houses and apartments!

I wanna screen print too....
I won't be going unless job #1's schedule changes radically and if job #2 decides to pay for me to attend. #1 is very unlikely and #2 is somewhat improbable.

Adam.... when are you traveling out there? What are you and your buddy doing for Maker Shed? Would love to meet-up with other people from the Twin Cities. As for screen printing... sounds like fun... could be done on any Wednesday night. Tony

Theo what was that stuff? It was commercially available, just at office-supply stores in the paper aisle. It's the inkjet transfer paper that specifically works on BLACK backgrounds. All the other stuff is teh sux. Again: Look for DARK T-SHIRT TRANSFER paper. Here's an example: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/5 ... sfers-for/ With this stuff, you don't have to mirror-image it before you print; you just carefully peel it off of the backing, place it on the shirt, lay the parchment paper over it (comes included with the transfer paper) and then use a hot dry iron for the recommended amount of time.

I'm down for doing shirts either way, screen print or iron-on transfer. I don't have an inkjet printer though, so would need someone to help with that. I think it would totally cool to get anyone who is going from the Twin Cities to wear a TC Maker shirt while out there, Show our numbers and make it easier to identify each other in the throngs of 60,000+ Makers / geeks. Spoonapult or TC Maker LOGO... I think someone should come up with weird saying to go along with it too!
