This is a follow-up to a conversation we were having at the Hack Factory the other day about Harbor Freight (http://www.harborfreight.com/) and the incredible quality/attention to detail we've come to expect from HF products. Specifically, someone was wondering if their MIG welders would kill you immediately or if it would take a few uses (answer, 3 uses).

Personally I love the place, and figure you can't really go wrong with some of their stuff (grinding wheels, bandsaw blades, mallets, etc.)- the less moving parts the better.
