Not sure if this has been discussed but are there plans for some form of a library for the space?
I would love to see some sort of research/reference library! The bigger question is where? The classroom is about the only space that makes sense. I may have access to two 8' x 4' book shelves if we want them.

The classroom sounds like it is getting full quick, but that is not a bad thing yet. Depending on schedule, I have a pickup truck and could help move the book cases if you need.
I was also planning on burning some Linux Distro's and other software to have on hand, they would fit nicely in our library.

it's on my radar, i'm looking into getting us some comped magazines as well (since we're an educational group) here's the list of books i think we *need* to have in teh space for reference. i'd like to have other stuff as well, but think we shoudl lean more towards reference over "how to make a xyz."
machinists handbook backstage handbook pocket reference desk reference (pokcet ref's big daddy) handyman's reference complete modern blacksmith sound reinforcement handbook (yamaha)
i'm sure there are a few iconic books for electronics, and welding, but i don't know the titles. the idea on this list is these are the *one* book you know that reference item you need to look up will be in.

yes, for reference books these are things you'd want to be able to look stuff up in IN the shop. it's another tool you want to have.
i think an informal makers leave one take one bookshelf would be great, but i don't think we want to dedicate a lot of space to it.
in a similar vein, i'd like to see us get a tool library goign eventually, so folks can say borrow a portable air compressor, nailer and circ saw to build a deck, or a drywall hammer or sander to touch up the basement, but we need to populate the shop first.

How about a library wishlist put together by category; starting with essentials & working up?
(FTM, the same could be done with tool wishlists as well. Subcommittees?)
