Wouldn't it be fun to have a science fair in the HF? Members and non-members could enter, it would be great for recruitment and publicity. Maybe have a kids' section or maybe not! Get some fun prizes from nerdy businesses...

Are you volunteering to organize? ;-)

In all seriousness, I LOVE this idea. Would you care to give it some thought, flesh it out a bit, and try and drum up some interest?

For instance, what are the criteria for projects? Do we have to do "science" or is a cool demonstration enough? How does it get judged?

I like group vote for this, everyone that enters is given a number. Everyone that shows up gets a slip of paper that they put the number of the one they like onto and drop it into a bucket. Prize for 1,2,3

Love the idea of a "Mad Science Fair". (rubs hands together menacingly)
