I'm playing bachelor all next week, so I thought it would be a nice change to have the weekly casual meeting at my house. If the weather is mild enough we can even hang out on the deck or light up the fire pit.

Thanks for the offer, Pat! Sounds good to me. The only issue is that those who don't regularly visit the website might not become aware of the change. If there are no specific objections by tomorrow, we can send a mass email via the bulletin board email system to notify folks.

I've already gotten responses on twitter and facebook from a majority of people that show up at the casual meetings (get on the twitter you crazy luddite). Spamming all the members may be overkill.

With all due respect, I wouldn't consider a meeting notice as spam. Twitter and Facebook were not established as primary communication channels for the group. I believe we did do a notice in the past and at least a couple people were very appreciative and said that otherwise they would've shown up at Common Roots and missed the meeting.

I don't remember setting any "primary communication channels" except for the forum, and even that is de facto. We are talking about a casual gathering, not a business meeting so I'm a little unclear why you are choosing to make a big deal about it.

Also I am of the opinion that we use any communication method that works. Currently there is much more activity on twitter (and to a lesser degree facebook) than there is on the forum which seems essentially dead.

I also plan on making a blog post once I return to the land of broadband.
