PIC related stuff can benefit greatly from a subscription to the PICList- a free mailing list hosted by MIT which, while nominally PIC centered, has a great deal of other info as well.

Microchip also has a good web forum.

Do you have a programmer for the 10F?

never heard about the MIT mailing list, I imagine that it's a good resource. With the PIC stuff I know it's hard right away but it's worth your time to go straight to the manual for information. I know there is load of information there but the sooner you understand what is going on the easier it will be to reference the manual.

I have worked with the 16F and the dsPIC series both successfully.

no action on this yet, since these guys were backordered at the time that I won them from MAKE... so I haven't seen hide nor hair of it yet. Thanks for the resources, I'll be checking there soon. Do i need a programmer for the 10F? I thought this was a "plug & play" type of setup that I could program via USB. Although I've been known to be wrong before...
