Yeah, we have pictures of each step and explained polarity at the top of the page, and then mentioned whether each part was polarized in each step, but the silkscreen for the resonator has a notch on it.

I can see how that can be confusing, so I added a sentence about it in the step.

We most certainly modeled our build instructions after ladyada's, and followed most of her presentation on making a "kitbiz." I personally feel like her kits could use more explanation discussion around the theory, although her newer kits have been much better about this. Matthew made some excellent visuals in the "Design" section for the TM.

One thing I don't like about Lady Ada's kit instructions is that they are aimed at the lowest common denominator of assembler. The minutiae of assembly details can obscure important tidbits for someone like me, who doesn't need a picture to know how to trim the leads of a resistor after soldering it.

I got into trouble with that, on my motor shield- I inserted the resistor array backwards. I was humming along too fast and glossed over the bit about orientation of that part. It was the only part on the board that was not instantly instinctual to me.

So, I guess, my suggestion is to throw up one set of instructions for noobs and another for people who solder so much their iron is always on.

I think I'm going to cave. There's only one tricky part in assembling this guy, and thats display alignment, and I think it can be conquered much better than I did with a little rubber band.
