Business Meeting, 8 July 7 p.m.

Postby uptownmaker » Tue Jul 07, 2009 11:12 am

We'll be having a business meeting tomorrow night at my house in South Minneapolis. Bring a lawn chair, if you have one- I only have about 8 chairs all told. We'll be meeting out in the yard, and it should be a brief meeting. Not planning on cooking as my grill is out-of-order ATM.

Agenda:
New Secretary (Theo has resigned)
Dues
Potluck
Clothesline Races
AOB

CONvergence report- Michael (metis) attended several days of the CONvergence convention last week. There was a panel on "creating a geek space" which sounds like the attendees would mesh well with the TCMaker goals. Michael established contact with the organizing parties of that panel.
Awesome, Not sure what CONvergence is but it sounds cool.

Keeping the Smoke In- Second class is done. Several of the students expressed an interest in TCMaker and Chad came to the meeting to become a member. It also sounds like SB might be very close to making arrangements with St. Paul to move into abandoned park buildings.
glad to hear that the class went well, The St. Paul/ Park thing sounds awesome, I saw a similar wood workshop in Chicago two weekends ago.

I talked with a relative of mine about rental space as that is the business that he is in, we were just brainstorming about the idea, he is into it and willing to help once we get some monies.

Reason: "renal space" = where we hide all the stolen kidneys? ;)
