Hey Makers!
I know a few of us already participate in the
World Community Grid, which allows individual PCs to be part of a massive supercomputing network, and work on solving humanitarian problems. I thought it might be a good idea to coordinate our grid-computing efforts in the name of Twin Cities Maker, so, to that end I've just created a WCG team called (not surprisingly)
Twin Cities Maker.
If you're already running the BOINC client for the World Community Grid project, I urge you to join our team by clicking here.
If you're not yet part of the Grid, but would like to participate, fantastic! In that case, please click here to get started on the WCG/TCM team.
Also, the latest version of the BOINC client (the free software from Berkeley which actually connects your computer to the Grid) for your computer is available here. Packages for MS Windows, Mac OS, and Linux are all represented. I'm currently running BOINC 6.6.20 for 64-bit Windows on The Green Hotness, for example.
Cheers! Let's Crunch It!

OK, I don't think I'm going to have much of a heat problem on my new PC, and we can't have a team with only one member!!! I'm going to install the BOINC client and join the team!
