Yeah that's it, cornelius kegs, it will be home brewed by one of the guys in the group. And yes the goal is to drink it after, unfortunately I will be off on other adventures at the time so I won't be able to partake.
Make it happen.

Just gave me an idea!
I recently started a small (1 gal) batch of pineapple wine. I wonder how large those little "kegs" of root beer you buy in the grocery store are. May be large enough for a metal "carboy" to use as a secondary fermenter.

What am I working on?
1) Finishing up making a flycutter for my mini milling machine
2) Repairing old lawn tractor - next summer project
3) Modifying the blade lift/lower mechanism on the new lawn tractor now being used as a snowplow so it actually works!!
4) Building a front end for the file server in the basement so I can access music digitally from the entertainment center.

Tinkering with my Arduino, haven't built anything significant yet. A few vague ideas floating around yet.

    Men Sawing Wood folk toy
    Wooden Combination Lock

you mean like the mini-kegs that bells and heineken sell? they can be refilled most brew shops sell the plugs that go in the top... uhm.. it's cheaper to buy with beer in them... than empty at the brew shop... or at least more fun if you can find them with somethign interesting. you do need to drink them more or less in one swell foop, but they're perfect for a cask conditioned style.

It's fun to hear about other folks and their projects. Hope to hear more as they progress. Mine:

1. A full shed dormer attic remodel with new bathroom. Started this fall and has been slowed by weather.
2. LED lighting for same, has been recently redirected into a successful ice-house light for the hard-water fishing season.
3. RFID entry system for my detached shop.
4. An MR2 turbo crossbreeding with a RWD Corolla/Supra mutant. 5 years and counting.

IIRC, these were smaller. I think the mini-kegs are around 3 gal or so and these were 1 gallon. I bought one with root beer at Cub for about $12 and the rootbeer wasn't bad, but I didn't think to keep the container.

busy folk . . . I am just trying to get back into leather bits (costuming and period gear, maybe steampunk, for fun) and relearning what I have forgotten about Blacksmithing. and not burning down the garage in the meantime.

My current projects:
- converting my milling machine to CNC
- building a recumbent trike
- arduino sensors to measure my sleep
- trying to figure out how to fix the mechanical fuel injection in my Alfa Romeo

If I get time:
- make a collapsible welding table
- convert my lathe to CNC
- arduino controlled box to sprout cacti
