I don't care for the idea of having our logo tied to any one particular communications medium (i.e. twitter) Not sure that was being suggested as a logo, but as an idea for a t-shirt. The inevitable backlash was why I didn't put the suggestion forward.

I'll try to get my brother to take a shot at this -- he just finished up a graphic design program this summer (just in time for the graphic design market to dry up). He's good, and I ain't sayin' that just because he's family. See for yourself... (Yes, this is a plug, he needs a job!)

jwb wrote: I like how we use #tcmaker in twitter as a hash tag Hey, what typeface is that, exactly? Is it free to download & use? Got a link? I can find equivalent typewriter-style monospaced fonts on my own, but if you know the answer off the top of your head...

Here's an idea I had for a stenciled logo. I hope to produce a t-shirt with this logo with the bleach method or just spraypaint. (Or both -- me so crazy!) Attachment: tcmaker.jpg

I like the direction that design's going. It doesn't yet have anything in the composition that implies what "tcmaker" actually is, no clear representational metaphor, but it's attractive and definitely stencil-able. You could add the ".org" onto the end pretty easily, too. (or use "twincitiesmaker.com", but that's longer; "tcmaker.org" is tight)

JWB -- here's a little semi-unsolicited feedback from my Schmoop... "with very little tweaking, the bits & pieces of that logo design could be made to look like stylized tools & components, which would give a stronger visual tie-in with what the group actually does. The "c" already looks kind of like a magnet, and the T or the R would make a dandy hammer, and... Heh. Backseat art direction is so much easier than actually doing the work."
