Introducing myself...

Postby FreshBakedPrinting » Fri Oct 21, 2011 3:33 pm

Hello all, I just wanted to introduce myself.
I started off as a machinist back in the day, then post college, became a computer programmer (C, C++, JS, Oracel, etc.) then chucked it all to become a screen printer. Currently an Uptown resident.
I look forward to membership, being involved and contributing where I can.

Hey there, welcome.

Sounds like you'll fit right in.

We have an open house every wednesday night. The official hours are 7pm to 9pm, but in reality, it starts earlier and ends late. (sometimes ends when it's early again, if you know what I mean.)

Getting a fresh start sounds wicked cool.

Just out of curiousity, have you heard of this place: http://bigtablestudio.com/

They're 1.5 blocks from me, and it looks like screen printers nirvana. Very nice people, too.

Hope to see you at the space.

Your screen printing knowledge will be of great help here! I'm building a UV station and screen dryer for the space. Just need to find a nice and dark area for burning screens at the shop. Let me know if you want to lend a hand.

Hi FBP!!

Welcome to our forums and thanks for introducing yourself!

Hey, I just bought some t-shirts for member use, intending to get TCM designs stitched in. Screen printing would be another option, if we can get dye that is steadfast and high quality. Otherwise I have a person who would be interested in doing the embroidering.

Take a look-see at Member Drive t-shirts.

Note: We do have a location for introductions, at Please Read: Posting Guidelines and Important Topics. It might be wise to relocate this thread over there; I'll see.

Have fun and enjoy the forums!

Sorry I missed the Intro thread to introduce myself.

I can get t-shirts wholesale. How many were you thinking of printing?
The wholesale cost of a blank Gildan color Heavyweight is under $2.40-ish (don't tell anybody). Sometimes much cheaper depending on the weekly distributor price.

Check out my company website:

If the art is ready to go and depending on the quantity of tees and number of ink colors, I could print some just for the cost of the shirt.
A 1-2 color print would be ideal.

Absolutely fantastic, and what an attractive website and product selection!!! I like your foil, shimmer, neon, and distressed options.

I bought my sample shirts for embroidery testing at $3.33 apiece, plus taxes. Historically, we've worn black colored shirts, and that's what I bought. Hopefully these are good for screen printing as well.

I have a few designs worked up already, and other members do too. What is your preferred graphics format for printing? We've discussed having one design for TCM representatives at public events where we have a booth, but perhaps variety will work as well.
