Hey, does anyone know if the office printer will print edge-to-edge on an 8.5x11 sheet? Or is there a minimum border of white space needed all around the edges? How much space?

it's pretty uncommon to print edge to edge, you can print and then cut down.

I'm not aware of any printers that print edge-to-edge. It would mean getting toner on the rollers and other elements, which gums up the works.

OK. I think when printing an image that is 8.5x11 and taking the full space, though, that the printer driver will present a "fit to page" option.

Doesn't look like it does; the driver doesn't have any options for setting full bleed. And I've never seen a laser printer that could do full bleed, for the reasons others have mentioned. (I have seen inkjets capable of full bleed, for instance my Canon MP560.)

Thanks Scott. I have the driver on my netbook too and I could look at it. I'm sure I've seen "fit to page" options in either or both of the Brother and Adobe Acrobat print dialog boxes.

fit to page is completely different than full bleed, fit to page has nothing to do with the printer, it's a software option.
