but bluetooth modules are a bit expensive no?

Bluetooth modules are pretty cheap if you rip 'em out of an old ear-thingy. (One of these days I'll get around to tearing mine apart, and stick it into the old rotary butt set I have...)

They're even cheaper if you "acquire" them from your employer... My company makes a Bluetooth-using sensor that I'll be responsible for pretty soon. I don't know exactly how it works (I'll be going to Portland in April for training), but I'm betting more than one of those babies is going to find its way into the trash over the next couple of years, and you know what that means...

Of course it belongs in the trash!
I perform a valuable service- my company pays by the pound to recycle this stuff, so the more I cart off and use at home, the less they pay. Plus, when I take the non-recyclables out (plastic and stuff) it reduces their weight, too!

OK no problem... it was the quotes around "acquire" that alarmed me a bit. Good deal. Always hard to discern tone on teh internets...
