You get to design and build your hole, and on August 3rd we have an open house and have the grand opening.

Design constraints:
Keep your hole to a reasonable length (~20 ft or less)
If you are going to use electronics make use batteries and allow on/off and easy access for changing.
Make it modular and able to be stored at our space.
Create documentation on your hole. (How to construct it, and how to play it.)

This is a great idea!

Paul, I first thought this was some sort of contest, but I see now that it's just build your own hole. People will be investing time, effort, and materials cost as a contribution to TC Maker, with no guaranty of reimbursement. That should be made clear.

Also, aside from the PDF help and 20' length constraint, would there be any other things to suggest for consistency? Like green colored "turf," as opposed to red or blue?

Do we have any good source locally to use for materials, possibly a sponsor for a prize or something? If not, could we offer a contest/prize to incent folks to build a minigolf hole? Could we offer a demonstration/discussion class some afternoon for potential participants?

I'd like maybe a little more development of the idea and some other suggestions from members before putting up as a blog post, otherwise I say let's blog this thing soon!

I'd like to keep it open, you can add turf if you want or you can have your balls be on the concrete, or in a tube...

So what's this about golf, anyway?

I am totally going to kick my shoe into the ring for this one...Literally.

For the sake of possibly setting up an entire course at some time in the future, maybe there could be some suggested guidelines toward getting a course that doesn't look too discombobulated. On the other hand, I suppose it would be entirely appropriate for a "hacker's course" to look a bit like patched together odds and ends.

I take it as a given that my hole will look discombobulated.

So you guys want a hole if so which number?

Can I use a motor that plugs in?

Not sure where this is going to go, I think I am going to shelf it for now. Feel free to open it up and make it happen or make a hole on your own.
