I sure hope you're making your own... and that you're using vodka in the crust. It makes things so much easier.

Anyway, it's been a partial success. Photos are on Flickr now. The filling is way runnier than I expected; you can see what I mean below. That, combined with us not having the private room tonight, means I probably won't be bringing any pie to Common Roots. :( (Cafés tend to frown upon patrons who bring their own food.)

don't worry, yours is better.

what's the filling? if it was cherry, then that may have been your real problem. it always seems to be the runniest filling out there.

Arrowroot starch has always been helpful in Cherry pies for me. Either that or granulated tapioca. Make a slurry and add it to the boiling fruit. It'll thicken in no time.
