Biohacking and/or imaging and microscopy hacks

Postby organelle » Sat May 25, 2013 1:58 pm

Hello, I am a scientist and maker and would like to know if anyone else is interested in doing some basic molecular biology this summer. We could start with something like putting a GFP plasmid in E.coli, but I can envision other experiments. I have a small lab at a local college and do molecular genetics expts with students.

The other idea I would like to explore is hacking microscopes and building microscopes using simple stuff. We can also build our own lab equipment, which I routinely do for my day-job lab. Anyone interested? I am a dues paying member of the hack factory and would be glad to organize a class on such topics as introductory molecular biology, basics of imaging in biology, hacking the biology lab, etc.
