Operation, Spoonapult, Foshey, Light Rail Gun etc. are all a pain to move and store.

What I suggest is we find an enclosed trailer that would live behind the fence where Barry has his old truck now.

I'm with you, and if it's a trailer like the formula 1 teams have with a full machine shop and elevator and hydraulics to move things around, so much the better

Seriously, the big ticket special occasion items, need a proper home, across the table saw is not really a good location.

how much does an enclosed trailer of decent length with a ramp back end run? (used) i don't disagree at all, it'd mean operation, spoon, and foshay-buchet can all travel easily and get dropped off as needed. AND we'd have a way to shuffle other stuff all over to events, and not have to unpack immediately on return and juggle cars.

Whats a useful size. A horse trailer? Much bigger?

While that may be an good choice for other things, not sure that it works well for the problem listed.

With the skilled welders we have, I think that a basic trailer frame from Norther Hydrolics (on sale for $329 in the advert I got today) would be a better option.

It would need to basically have a shed put on it, but it could be pulled by a car too.

Or we could build one from scratch too. We could make it look like Fort Snelling, or the Jonathan Paddleford river boat.

That was sort of my idea too Booka. If one isn't long term loaned from a member, build the darn thing.

i'd opt for a bit bigger. consider the foshay-buchet is is ~8' long and ~3' wide, presumably the ballista of st mary will be on a similar scale, we're gonna want more like 8x16 of usable space.

Lets look at bigger when we need it. Something that a car could tow easily would be best. If and when we fill that up we would need to have more people on hand then a car could accommodate so we would get another one.

A smaller trailer could just possibly be used a bit more. The Maker's in the park could then just be a couple of people. Trailering down to QC Labs or over to Pump station would also then be in reach without a major logistics effort.

Also Barry's lease had the two spaces inside the fence. Anything bigger wouldn't fit and we would have to lease some footprint in the larger parking area.

Someday sure but not just now.

I love the idea of a trailer.

In between now and then, I'd like to hang the foshay thing from the ceiling, in some kind of safe and secure way.

We have lots of ceiling space, and I want to put interesting things up there.

also, it seems like there's often cheap or free trailers on craigslist, that we could use as a base.
