I've got an old set of Ediphone dictation machines that are simply gathering dust in my basement. I've contacted a couple of vintage music resellers, and no one seems interested in them as collectibles. I'd be delighted to bring them in to the factory to share and play, but I don't want to bring them in if they're just going to sit there, take up space and gather different dust. I've got three separate units, but I don't think I have the shaver/cleaner unit, I think I have two recorders (for dictation) and one player (for the secretarial transcriber). I do not know how well they work, and I am not sure if I have any recordable cylinders, but as seen in the photo at the link above they are pretty cool vintage technology. Steampunk photo shoot? Retro audio effects?

very cool looking machine.

that's the kind of thing I'd like to see under glass at the space.

I'm all about not bringing stuff in just to sit around, but that's special.

it's got steampunk written all over it.

If you ever decide to turn one into parts, I'm sure there will be lots of takers.

I'd talk about it a bit first.

I think cool stuff like this needs to have a discussion for use and the a plan. Before it arrives. hat is not to say it shouldn't arrive. I'd just hate to see it torn apart by accident if there is another good use.

I would like the storage situation finished before new things arrive. 2c

I agree with Jude and Orion. I hadn't planned to bring them in unless there was genuine interest from someone to use them for what they are, and not for parts. Posting here seemed the best, first step to see what interest there might be.
