For a variety of (good) reasons, I had to dissemble a 1920s upright piano that had been in the basement of my home since the 1930s. Water and mildew took a toll, and it was impossible to remove as a whole piano. I have been using the ivory, ebony and much of the wood, but I want to find a good home for the works themselves. Still intact is the harp and string assembly, with (cracked) mahogany soundboard, as well as the hammer & levers assembly (apart from the keys), which bolts to the front of the cast iron harp.

The darned thing weighs a ton, but it is quite a beautiful object; both to look at and to listen to. Anyone interested should contact me, and we can make arrangements. I'm not looking to get too much for it (although the recipient should expect to help haul it out of the basement).

I can provide photos at a later date, if desired.

This sounds ideal for a project I've long wanted to do, an electro-mechanical musical machine (bog scale). I've not built anything like this before though. Finding someone to help with restoration and finding a storage place for this would be problematic.
