Can we think of a cool name for the new lounge area? How about C.H.I.L.L. -- Central Hackerspace Imagining & Learning Lounge?

I brought a work table, the Makerbot, and some soldering irons into [the lounge] because there's plenty of space and I for one would like to work there instead of the Family Room.

I like the idea of one of the offices being used as a quiet work area (a.k.a. nonprofit coworking). And I like the new warehouse space being used for large projects. Seems perfect for it.

I'm curious, what's in the walk-in safe and locked closet in the office?

Have we talked about renting out the various lockers and cabinets to members? For instance, the lockers in the scary bathroom could be rented for $5 a month and the double cabinets in the basement could go for $10 a month, and could be padlockable. Might be a good way to raise money, get people's stuff out of the work area, provide secure space for valuable tools, and it will make the organization some dough! (And maybe people renting can decorate their locker/cabinet any way they want?)

And finally, I began to set up my light tent next to the furnace: http://yfrog.com/gzvygyfj -- I'd like to keep it there if it doesn't bother anyone, at least for a couple of months. I'll label the setup green so anyone can use it.

Peeps of course, and the big plotter, maybe some vacuums.
Why I can't help you with, accept that peeps need to be secured.

Last I heard, the vault was going to be used to store stock for the vending machines, and the locked cabinet in the front office was to be used for document storage.
If it ain't broke, your version is outdated.

It is a Moral Imperative to keep the Peeps safe, and a giant safe only makes sense.....

They should be ready to consume about the end of March of 2012, nice and chewy...

Yo dudes,

I have appropriated one of the lockers in the Candyman bathroom area... that's right, I chose LOCKER 13. Open it at your peril.

Also, do we own these? I'd like to paint/decorate my locker door if no one objects.

of note, we've been asked to NOT solder in the front office to keep lead fumes out of that area.

in other no-no's do not put any new holes in the walls in the front area, or paint anything up there w/o checking with jrsphoto, myself, or orion to run it past the landlord, per the landlord's request.

When soldering, the fumes are not lead fumes, it is fumes from the flux as the melting point of lead is around 3000 degrees F, and most soldering occurs below 750 degrees F.

I can understand the landlords point of view. I imagine he doesn't want any other fumes ruining the ambient aroma of rodent feces and mildew.

but, actually the melting point of Lead is 621.43 °F.
