so i've been slowly (mostly on my part) corresponding with the common room manager at common roots, and requested the common room for the first and third wednesdays at 7pm this month, and if we're still thinking that works, we'll re up for next month.

they limit each group to (2) times a month at (4) hrs a session so that it's available to more folks.

i've asked if we can use it ad hoc if no one else has reserved it the other weeks, although i think we'd be fine to meet more socially in the general space if someone else wants it.

i suspect i'll have to miss this week, but will let everyone know once i've got confirmation on the room.

I wanted to say that I apologize for not being able to make if to these initial meetings. I was not expecting such a large turnout here on the internet right off the bat and I was anticipating a much slower climb to get to the place where we are right now with nearly 100 members.

I think that it is an unfortunate situation that has arisen, but that is how it worked out. I would like to say that I would like to approach this venture similarly to how we have been doing it here on the forum, that being cooperatively and I think that together we are not going to be worse off for having casual meetings. As I see it, this is what would be happening at the shop that we create in the future.

So I would be too concerned about my absence right now. I also want to say that I am not going to be some sort of superman that will come in and make everything happen once I get back, but I think you all understand that. I am coming from the same place most of you are, I was just lucky to attract all of you at the right time.

I will tell you that I am dedicated to seeing something happen and I am willing to put in my effort to make that happen. I am also very excited to get to meet the whole group when I come back, and I think I will have some pertinent information to share.

we're all assuming you're actually an angel investor who will buy us each a CNC 7-axis mill, a school bus running on veggie oil, and solve world hunger when you return.

realistically, we're excited to meet you since this was your idea/energy to get started on this, and look forward to getting things rolling in a marginally organized fashion.

That first thing sounds reeeeally sweet to me, no doubt; but in all honesty, I'll settle for the last thing.
