Well I guess it's good and bad people can find us, but now I am going to have to start dealing with spammers here on the forum.

well I am not sure how the spammers are getting in unless they and doing to visual confirmation thing manually. This could start to get ugly! ahhhhh
Do you think an email confirmation would help reduce the spamers, I don't think it would have much effect, your thoughts?

Email confirmation to activate TCM forum login is a good idea. I was surprised I didn't have to. Paul, I should PM you on this topic too, but have been procrastinating.

I can enable it, I will give it a try, I don't think I need to set up a email server, but I want to create a different account so my personal email is not used to send out the requests. To delete the spam posts my user name has turned an ugly green ahhh, and it really sticks out, I think I will have to change that as well.

I still don't see a problem... but it's likely something that can be changed fairly easily if you get under the hood. Look for style="color: #00AA00" (HTML code for that bright green).

Or a less elegant solution, have two logins, one being Admin, and one for posting.

I just made the CAPTCHA harder, hope that helps.

Captcha protects against scripts and bots; our spammer(s) had to have been human. As far as being able to deal with human malfeasance, though: If folks are required to be members in order to post, using logins which have been activated via email, AND if the board has multiple live moderators... I'd call that adequate cover.
