Potluck: August 1, Lakeland Park, Brooklyn Pk, Please RSVP

So, after a bike trip to Brookdale Park and back, I have made 3 discoveries:

I am badly out of shape.
Limeade + gin = good.
Brookdale Park does in fact have both a grill and a port-a-loo near the picnic pavilion.

I'll call the city tomorrow and see about getting the park -- should only be $50.

Darn, Brookdale Park was booked. So Lakeland it is -- there's a port-a-loo there, so we don't need the expense of the building. I'll cover the cost of the rental;call it my first month's dues.

I booked the pavilion from noon to 8pm.

My wife and I will be there. We'll bring a batch of the Oatmeal Stout and Toffee ice cream we were challenged by a couple of the tcmaker twitterers to make, as well as another more savory side that is TBD.

Wife, I and Alice should be there. Not sure what we'll be bringing. Probably something tomatoey as our plants have decided to go apeshit. Seriously, I've never seen caged tomato plants as tall as I am before.

I will bring fire -- a couple sacks of charcoal, chimney starters, and an ignition source or three. Fire good!

[UPDATE: LIST OF SHARED FOOD AS OF JULY 29]
Summing up, as of July 27, members have indicated they'll bring the following:

Swiss corn bake and maybe a layered bean dip
Chips
Oatmeal stout and toffee ice cream
Something tomatoey
Charcoal, chimney starters, and an ignition source or three
Pasta salad
Maybe hummus and veggies

Also attendees are expected to bring their own meat. Anyone else bringing something to share?

Is there power at the park? If not does somebody have a cordless vacuum they could bring?

(a project involving bacon depends on this)
