In order to be a legal entity (bank account, enter into lease, etc) we need to have formal structure that complies with MN law. The approved draft of the by laws (we think) will be sufficient to get us there. Per the bylaws we need to elect the following officers:

President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Development Coordinator

Nominations are public, and candidates must accept in writing or in person, however for practical purposes the only time to accept in person will be at next week's causal meetup (May 6th) or at the business meeting. Please read the position descriptions in the bylaws, and nominate accordingly. Remember this is technically forming a business, with a two year term, and should not be taken lightly.

We also will need an elections official who is NOT running for any position, but will be at the meeting.

By this I mean, should the TC Maker peeps see fit to elect me, I would execute the office faithfully until such time as somebody better suited comes along, at which point I'd really prefer to be Grand Poohbah of the Shop Floor. Unless Norm Abram or Jamie Hyneman comes on board, naturally. Then I could be content with Minor Poobah.

It would be nice if our treasurer had some background experience and references, but certainly anyone committed to serve faithfully would be considered.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to decline the nomination . I'm already on the board of that other club, which takes up a fair chunk of time already. In fact I'm not going to make Wednesday's meeting -- I have to help put up set pieces for the Star Trek movie premiere that night. (Plans weren't settled until this morning -- gotta love last-minute amateur architecture...)
