--clarification update--

conversation on amending elections policy to this:
4. Election shall be by simple majority of the Balloting Members of each round of balloting. In any round of voting where no member gains a majority of votes, the candidate(s) with the least number of votes shall be dropped, and the election run again. This shall be repeated until a majority is achieved or only two candidates remain. If at any point this elimination would result in only one candidate remaining without a majority, that round of balloting would be repeated as a tie. If the election results in a tie, discussions will be reopened. If three rounds yield the same results, the election of this officer only shall be tabled, nominations reopened, and election held again at the next regular meeting.

meat and wammie have seconded change, discussion ongoing, 2 more affirmations and it'll become the preprint for tonight (barring other changes, oh heavens i hope not)

-- edit theo's in too, so one more, or ask for further clarification, or new info.....

I agree with the latest revision from Metis. Thanks for talking me through your intent -- I had forgotten to consider the absentee case. So we would be doing drop off and reevaluation of candidates standing on that ballot without taking another vote until a tie is reached or the number of candidates would be reduced below 2. Makes sense. Thanks for taking time to explain.

my pleasure, i'd rather have folks ask about things and have us think through them more adn find those glitches than to get something that's not what we need ti to be.

ok revising the draft.
