I've arranged my electronics class through Studio Bricolage
Dates are April 7, 9, and 14, at Leonardo's Basement. I'm expecting each session to be less than 2 hours in length, and I'm aiming for less than one hour of blah blah blah so we can actually get some playing done. There's no charge for the class, but there is an optional $15 materials fee for some small goodies packs I'm assembling.
Please, please, PLEASE pre-register if you are interested in getting the goodies pack. I bought some wire and breadboards at Fry's today (unbelievably cheap), and I'm culling some of the rest from my personal stash and a likely upcoming order from Digi-key or Jameco. I don't want anyone to feel left out.
Once I have the complete pack assembled, I will post it here, so you can decide on whether or not you want to buy it or try and use stuff you already have. I'll probably bring extra bits and pieces, "just in case".
I also STRONGLY suggest you bring a simple multimeter. Doesn't have to be much- just amps, volts and ohms. Multimeters of that sort can be had for $20 or less, and if you're planning on doing much with electronics, a meter is pretty much essential.
If this goes well, I'll probably do more classes in the future.
If you have questions, let 'em fly. To register, hit the Studio Bricolage
site for contact info, as they're doing the leg-work of the organizing.
