Volunteer to Train Young Makers! Tronix Team!

Postby wammie » Tue Mar 17, 2009 12:06 pm

All,

I have been made aware of a local program to help middle and high school students learn creative science, with a focus on electronics. The program has meeting sites in Minneapolis, Bloomington, and St. Paul. Below is content of an email about the program, reproduced here with permission from Catalina Carbonell, Associate Program Director.

If you would like to volunteer, the appropriate contacts are listed.

In this e-mail you can also find a list of all our projects that we have scheduled this Spring.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks,
Catalina Carbonell

Tronix Team brings together diverse and caring adult volunteers who tap the creative and intellectual capacity of adolescents to create exciting electronic projects while developing life skills in a safe environment.

Tronix Team is looking for volunteers’ to work with middle and high school students creating fun hands-on science projects, such as a our Lunch box Boombox project; students make a circuit board, solder parts on their board, and install everything they build in their plastic lunch box.

Activities are already planned and organized -- you just come be part of the action, help create projects, be a friend and a role model that students will look up to.

If you are interested in becoming a Tronix Team volunteer, please contact:
Catalina Carbonell at 612-825-6864 x578 or
catalinacarbonell[--at--]tronixteam.org
We hope you will join us!!!

ALSO:
Park Avenue Youth & Family Services is offering a summer day camp:
June 30 - July 3, 2009 Tronix Team Day Camp
Catalina Carbonell could be contacted about this as well.
