I just edited this post for tone.
I came in to the space tonight, and the woodshop was rather untidy.
There was sawdust, debris, wood, and tools around every single station and area.
It was rather disheartening, to say the least.
I'm assuming that whoever used the wood shop between midnight Wednesday, and 5pm today, was quite simply planning on coming back some time very very very soon to tidy up after themselves, as anything else would be gauche, tacky, and declasse.
Sadly, "Clean up after yourself" should be our watchword until we can afford some hired help.
Cheers!
Riley

I admit, I accept that one of my responsibilities in as Department Manager is to make sure the wood shop space is relatively clean. I hasten to add, however, that this does not mean I'm the maid. I'm disappointed to learn that the space is a mess whilst I'm having an otherwise lovely vacation in Kansas City.
Here is my holiday plea: I you made a mess, please clean it up. If you didn't make a mess, and you have time to do a little clean up, any effort at all to make the space work-friendly will be greatly appreciated.
See you all after my return on Dec. 29th.
Chris

I know that at the very least I appreciate all that you do to improve the wood shop space and keep things in order. We need all using the space to maintain the cleanliness and working order of the tools. Maybe someone was under the Christmas time-crunch and didn't have a chance to rectify the situation in the shop before having to get back to their family. Have a good time celebrating in KC and we will try to get things back into the expected state upon your return.

FYI - Was in today for a bit. Noticed both sanders were broken as well as the table saw. Table saw was disassembled and had a tag on it. The little red sander has a toasted bearing and has become inoperable.

Chris, you do an awesome job, and no one can expect you to do anything other than post eloquently while you're away.
Swink, this saddens me, as the table saw was in perfect working order when I left on Friday around 1130 pm.
I didn't use either sander that day, but saw both of them in use until late Thursday, at which point they were both working.
I'm hoping to come in today, and if I can find the motivation, will attempt some general tidying in addition to making.
I sure would like it, tho, if some of the mess makers (I have no idea who this might encompass and am not blaming any specific individuals) would come clean.
Heck, maybe it's time for a wood shop cleaning party.

Yep, table saw back together and big sander works (it just was unplugged and had stuff laying across it ,like the last time it was down).
