Be careful at intersection near Hack Factory

All,

A week ago there was a car accident at 31st Ave. and 26th St., an intersection very close to the Hack Factory. It turns out there has been a history of mishaps at this junction, as discussed in this Minneapolis Seward Neighborhood forum thread.

It seems a factor in these accidents has been the tendency of drivers on 26th St. to ignore the stop signs. It looks as though the neighborhood group and local interests are trying to find a solution. Until they do, please be very careful when traveling through this intersection and heed the traffic controls.

Yeah, that can be an awful intersection. Despite the city adding the "CROSS TRAFFIC DOES NOT STOP" signs, people still seem to think it's a four-way stop.

What's needed is a Stop sign with flashing red led lights outlining the sign...

What's needed is speed-sensitive tire spikes. Fail to stop? Get a couple flats.
