So... is everyone OK with this? I can see people wanting clarification of the "not free" statement: "What? I can't use any materials here unless it's labeled as free?" I also think the item about trying to not set things on fire accidentally is a useless statement and we could be more specific about fire safety. These would be the things I'd address first on the next round of rules formulating. Otherwise, is it a go for printing?

I think it's totally excellent.

Shop signs mark II can be changed, improved, carved in granite and gilded, but shop signs mark I have been non-existent.

These are awesome, do it up.

My next task (which means it might end up being your task, Wammie ) is to create a sign for the part storage and free wood areas that explicity states "this stuff in particular is up for grabs, in exactly the same way that all the other stuff isn't."

Between the two, we'll be making huge progress forward and eliminating a lot of potential for non-excellence.

I plan on getting over to the H.F. today then and will attempt a print.

I'm loving the work that's been done on this so far. If the length of the resulting sign is a problem, could we simply go with two pages, posted side by side? Just throwing that out there.
If it ain't broke, your version is outdated.

I'm just thinking that with the way tools, tables, and projects get stored along the walls, it might be easier to keep a 48" wide by 36" high space clearly visible than a 24" wide by 72" high space.

Also, if John and all the other area managers are okay with it, I'm liking the idea of posting signs with our contact information too.

I spent a couple hours trying to get the plotter to print this, but it was a no go. I worked out a sequence of steps and settings adjustments that started a good plot going, but that plot quit at about 3/5 of the way through. On a following attempt, the plotter gave an "out of media" error, which means we need to load some more paper.

Metis, would you be able to obtain and load a new paper roll?

wayne, could you email me the file?

Also, would you be willing and able to do a version that would fit on 2 pieces of paper, portrait oriented, side by side?

thanks man!

Riley, I mailed you the PDF of the poster version. You want a version that prints on 2 pieces of 8.5x11 paper?

Yeah, I agree, only I start to get nervous with changing things too much from the original, lest I step on some toes.
