Science Demonstrations !

Postby ElectricVentures » Sat Jul 31, 2010 9:25 am

I've always enjoyed creating and watching science demonstrations. Considering the amazing talents in our group, we could probably put together an incredible science show! Such events are often "standing room only". Hope others will join me in sharing some at future Hack Factory Cabarets.

Thought I'd share a simple one, which I filmed last weekend. It is titled "Awesome Shivering Coins", and is posted on YouTube at . Be sure to view in in HD, full screen, if you can. Note that this is my first attempt at shooting in HD.

Anyone else interested in sharing science demos at the Cabaret?

Yes, I think this would be a good twist for the Cabaret events!

I'd be up for doing a demonstration / helping in anyway possible. I helped my son build a Gauss Gun for his science fair last year. I was amazed at how fast a 6' track could accelerate some 1/2" steel balls. We found an online setup that shot through glass windows using just the magnets for acceleration.

I could help with electronics, lighting, and building precision parts if others need help getting a demo going.

When is the next Cabaret?
