Well this forum is almost 1 year old. Nice to see all that has been accomplished in that year. Let set the bar high next year, for ourselves and the group.

Personal maker goals:
-finish development on my video game
-build small scale trebuchet that will fit in the back of my truck (I shall name it "peasant launcher")
-Learn leather tooling
-get back into metal sculpture
-wear my kilts more often (metis=inspiration on that one)

TCMaker goals I want to help with:
-help set up the metal working area
*get 220v run for arc welding
*build good welding table suitable for torch & arc
*build movable welding curtain system
-paint shop mural

Ooooh! I can't wait to see that trebuchet!

2009 was an eventful year for me personally, but without a doubt one of the best things that has happened for me in years has been my association with TC Maker. I appreciate all the magnificent talent of our members and I'm soooo looking forward to making, sharing, and learning in 2010. Thanks especially to those who have worked with me on our board; I value what everyone brings to the effort, and especially the opportunity to improve myself while working with the board through challenging issues.

Best of luck to you, swinkdaddy, on your resolutions! I haven't yet formulated a specific list of maker pursuits for myself this year, but I expect to get much more involved with electronics and continue project work to assist the TC Maker organization.

heh, swink we shoudl talk, i've built 2 trebuchets in that scale. charles, and charles the second (aka chuck, and chuck farther) chuck could fling a golf ball or ho-ho farther than i could, which isn't saying a lot, but for 6 2 liter bottles as the counter wieght mass and 1x4 for most of the structure, it was pretty snazzy. chuck 2 was 2x4's, and a bit bigger.

Cool, my plan is to use stong modern materials, but then hide it under staining, carving and distressing. IE Carve in marks that make it look like, its made from much smaller pieces of wood. Add little details like pin joints and iron strapping.

Oh and cuz its called peasant launcher, sew up a number of weighted peasant shapes dolls to chuck.

And if I can find the right parts (cheap), add a web cam into the peasants . So I can retrieve the footage of their travels. I think that would be a funny blog called "peasant cam".
