I am thinking starting up funds so we can finda space, we will need to figure out what to give out for donations...

I like it. It may be just the thing we need to get over the hump and into some space.

Alternatively, it may be a really great way to get enough funds together to throw a Maker Faire, and the payback collected from the Maker Faire (admission fees and exhibitor fees) may be the way to provide the response to kickstart pledgers, as well as padding our coffers.

That could be an awesome thing to do kickstarter fund raising for an event, and people could re-coup some of their investment with free admission. This could be big.

I enjoy Kickstarter and have been debating using it for some of my projects.

Recently found this project. It blends a great video with screen printing, thought I would share.

Worked for the LA makerspace. To the tune of $15k in 30 hours.

the board chatted about kickstarter a little at the last meeting, i'll let someone currently on it explain details.

for fundraising for the shop, we need an idea that someone's willing to get behind and make sure is going to be completed.

if you've got a brilliant idea for a big project that for the organization that'll need funding, i'd be more than excited to help you sus out appropriate funding sources. (you can get a grant for just about anything, BUT you actually have to have a plan, and follow through with it)
