Used Cedar

Wow, ghost town around here. On the chances that there are any lurkers. I'm come across about 200 feet of used deck cedar. I removed it myself, it was screwed down (not nailed) I was curious if anyone was interested in it. I was thinking of playing with sanding some of it down a bit and (after wandi...

Re: Skillz Bartering database

I'll add my $0.02. I can throw a bunch of programming knowledge into the mix. I've been thinking about this from the other angle. Perhaps I'm just stuck in my 'day job' mentality, but I look at any project in terms of skills and tasks. There are a number of things that people work on at the space th...

Car Hacking... Again.

So it seems that I've been going through cars a bit as of late. It seems that the engine on the 2002 Camry was not long for this world. The good news is that I found a lovely 1998 Camry XLE for a song and I'm done with drive by wire. So that brings me to the question of what lurkers here are car gee...

Tech Tool Box

So, losing my trunk for a bit has been a bit traumatizing on the tech front. I use my car as my mobile office. As I gear up to restock the new car, I'm looking for a better way to store everything. Thinking I need a tech toolbox of sorts. Things like storage for cables, blank media, basics like mult...

Re: Hard Drive Data Recovery

Depends on exactly what died. Different case, but I've had 2.5s that have been sitting for a long time and the spindle will lock, that's just a matter of cracking the case open and giving it a push. The freezer fix is basically trying the same thing, but hoping the thermal contraction will un stick ...

Ditto, they go from rough glued to 'a miracle occurs' and they have a perfect finish. What would bond plastic like that? Some form of epoxy? Must have been sandable. I'm sure there was a final coat of something, I just want to know what they filled all the holes in with.

Re: B1TCalc

For the iOS (that's iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad1/2) folks. If you go out to the app store you can pull down a nice little app called UUIDViewer that will give you the magic UUID off your device. This basically lets me add you to my dev account so I can sign beta versions of the app so they will run on ...

Re: B1TCalc

While I'm spamming my own thread, I should prolly mention here that the Android version is in the market here: http://goo.gl/pdtMb If you wanted to play with it. There are more updates/features to come, just wanted to get the app going.
