Re: Classical Bicycle Swap Meet this weekend

The posting link was dead when I tried it. Do you have any information on the swap meet?

Thanks!

Re: So...what are you working on?

@John: I'll see about that! They need two of them shortly for practice weapons training, but the other two are just going to be used for props, so I might be able to hold onto them a bit longer, as they won't be shooting for a bit. I'm milling the last hand guard (or whatever you want to call it) as...

Re: So...what are you working on?

Frickin' laser beams is what I'm working on. Laser swords, actually (to keep me, and my customer from getting sued by a certain large movie company for using another term). Sword hilt Sword handle I'm making these for a guy who is doing a promo video with some associates of his. They are a bunch of ...

If you mean the part just above the drill chuck, I could make that. Do you have dimensions or a drawing?

Re: CNC Machining and TIG welding services

@Pete- Well, I figured more power and a Z-axis might benefit some people's projects. I do have a bit of technical know how on machining, but you guys all have the desire to figure stuff out, which can take you pretty far, too! As for cutting acrylic covers, I'll have to say... Probably. I'd have to ...

CNC Machining and TIG welding services

I have a small machine shop in Saint Louis Park. If anyone has a project that needs some more machining horsepower than you have available at the Hack Factory, I'd be happy to help. No, not for free, but I try to keep my rates reasonable, and my favorite kind of customer is makers and inventors, so ...

Re: What do we have? An equipment and skills inventory

I didn't realize this was the spot to introduce myself! I'll correct that now. My name is Fletcher. I'm a machinist by trade (more mills than lathe work, though I do know how to turn parts!). I went to Dunwoody for school, and have been in the trade about five years now. I work mostly with Mastercam...

Re: CNCiing Metal bootstrap parts, and an Aluminum TC Maker

I'm not sure I'd be much help on grinding lathe bits. I haven't done that myself since school. I'm more of a mill guy, and when I do turning, I mostly just use inserted cutters. I'd be happy to offer what little experience I have, though! I won't be able to attend the Wednesday meeting (I haven't ev...
