Re: Community Air Tools

It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. High speed tooling in contact with metal is dangerous, if you don't know how to do things safely ask. It is very easy to, shoot metal into your eyes, burn yourself, snap off an abrasive / cutoff disk and send it flying into yourself or someone nea...

Community Air Tools

The Pete's have put together a start of shared air tools, in the nice red cart near the pickle. I only got a picture of the first drawer with a die grinder, cutoff tool, some bits for these and some oil. Please put a drop of oil in the tools when you finish using them (one drop, in the tools air inl...

Re: Fabrication Assistance

Eric, Just as an FYI, if you don't get responses here it's do to the low traffic by members, especially those in the welding and metal working areas. Talking about your plans with those in the space would be a great start. Also I think welding and welding equipment check out classes are held monthly...

CNC Router and Mill Conversion threads, external links

I don't post here much anymore, I actually don't post much of anywhere very often, but I have intermittent posts on my CNC Router build and some things I've cut, as well as a thread I'll be trying to keep up to date on my mini-mill CNC conversion on cnczone so here's the links to those threads if yo...

Post Halloween Clean Up - AKA put your shit away!

In the interest of the equipment, and having room to maneuver in the wood shop I put the sewing machines etc back in the basement. If you have an event that scatters shit about the space, you, yes you are responsible for getting everything back where it came from. If you don't like that as a process...

Re: MIDI help

I am looking into doing a little MIDI control of some sound effects and processors. But I'll be honest I dont know squat about midi control. But I am starting to get into sequencing instruments and building loops for a songwriting project. If you are handy at making music via midi controls, I'd lov...

Re: Laser Area Expansion Project (LAEP)

Sounds like a grand project. One caution, maker beam may be a bit light for the dimensions you are talking about. One hopefully constructive suggestion, there is a large community with years of experience building and rebuilding laser cutters at building.net They are also the home of MakerSlide whic...

Re: New guy

Welcome, I believe we have, I know we had a 4' x 4' sheet of Styrene that never got used awhile back, it should be around. I'd be happy to share what I know about CNC, and get you up to speed on my CNC router and lathe if you are open to answering dumb questions about parametric 3d design, ( not sol...

Free - clean 5 gallon buckets with lid, I have 3

Let me know if you'd like one or more, and I'll bring them in, they held 2 pair of 25# bags of concrete, so they have basically never been used directly.
